Board Elections Set for October
Meet the Candidates

(2025-2028 Term on the Board of Directors)

Six candidates vying for two board of director positions will be presented to the membership for consideration in October. Voters will select one individual from each slate to serve a four-year term (2025-2028). Eligible voters will begin casting their votes by electronic ballot on Monday, October 14, and voting will conclude on Friday, October 25 at 9 pm Eastern.

Michael Castro

Michael Castro is the CEO of Marble Unlimited, Inc., a 32nd Degree Freemason, and devoted father of two boys. Currently, Michael serves on the Natural Stone Institute marketing committee, volunteers as a Women in Stone mentor, and has co-founded a nonprofit organization, Teddy Bears on Call (TBOC), that assists doctors and child-life specialists for children across the United States. Michael has been in the industry for thirty years and is passionate about the natural stone industry and community-driven initiatives.

Glenn Kross

Glenn Kross, CEO of Coastal Stone Group, has been an executive in the surfacing industry for over 25 years. Glenn spent over 25 years in the manufacturing and distribution of both natural stone and quartz surfacing slabs before transitioning to the fabrication sector in 2021. Glenn currently leads two highly successful stone-surfacing businesses located in Greenwood, Delaware. Glenn was a 2023 finalist for KBB Magazine’s Person of the Year, and was named Stone World magazine’s Fabricator of the Year in 2023 with his company Coastal Stone Group.

Artistic Tile imports, designs, develops, manufactures, distributes, and retails natural stone for residential and commercial projects. Josh has nearly thirty years of stone industry experience, including extensive volunteer work and leadership roles supporting the industry. His most recent role included serving as the inaugural President of the Natural Stone Foundation to help launch the industry’s only philanthropic arm. He has also contributed to the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. program and volunteered as a Women in Stone mentor.

Gonsalo Machado has a degree in general business and a master’s degree in International Negotiations and Business. He has been the sales director for Magban since 1996 and for more than 27 years he has been traveling the world to expand their business to over 70 countries and promoting natural stone both in the commercial and residential markets. Gonsalo has served as a volunteer to help with the “It’s Natural” Brazilian stone promotion initiative and worked with Centrorochas, the leading Brazilian stone association, for their advocacy of natural stone.

Susan Moser is a third generation natural stone industry professional from Denmark who has worked all over the world in different positions, lately as stone consultant for government lead projects in Saudi Arabia. Currently Susan is CEO and owner of the historic Norwegian Rose marble quarry north of the arctic circle in Norway and has reactivated the quarry, bringing it back to the world. She strives to empower the use of natural stone and is an advocate for incorporating natural stone as a sustainable material in building projects. Susan is the recipient of the 2025 Women in Stone Pioneer Award.

Throughout his career, he has been part of numerous strategic meetings, workshops, and educational events, always striving to raise industry standards and strengthen his global client network.
